Holiday Baking Championship is back in 2023 in the run-up to Christmas. Host Jesse Palmer takes a step away from the giant dating franchise of The Bachelor and enjoys some festive baking fun alongside the Food Network show’s judges. As the baking contest progresses, some fans are left confused over Duff Goldman’s sickness.

This year’s contestants are putting it all on the line to impress judges Duff, Carla Hall, and Nancy Fuller. However, during the Food Network show’s December 4 episode, Duff’s absence didn’t go unnoticed by fans. The judge has been appearing on the competition series since 2014.

Is Duff Goldman sick?

Yes. During Holiday Baking Championship season 10 episode 6, it is explained that Duff isn’t appearing in the episode due to illness.

Episode 6 saw one of the show’s judges, Nancy Fuller, teaching host Jesse Palmer how to make a latke as Hanukkah was fast approaching.

Forty-eight-year-old pastry chef Duff wasn’t feeling well for a couple of the season 10 episodes. However, per his social media pages, he’s back to health nowadays.

Duff took to Instagram on National Cookie Day (December 4) to share a recipe with his followers.

Fans ‘miss’ the Holiday Baking Championship judge

As Duff shares some of his favorite recipes on Instagram, his fans are asking questions in the comments section about his whereabouts during the “HBC Hannukah episode.”

More commented: “Missed you tonight on Holiday Baking Championship.”

Other Holiday Baking Championship fans took to X (Twitter) to ask questions about Duff. One said: “Hmmm Duff Goldman wasn’t on the last 2 episodes of Holiday Baking Championship bc he was “under the weather,” possible Covid?”

Another wondered where Duff was and hoped that he gets “better soon.”

“Where’s Duff Goldman? Hope he’s better soon. Imo, if a judge has to be out, a third judge should be brought in so it’s more fair to the contestants. Call @Wolfiesmom or Lorraine Pascal; they’re excellent judges.”

Answering some other fans’ questions, one person tweeted: “Yeah, they said he was not feeling well.”

Others wrote on the Food Network Instagram post how they felt about Duff’s absence: “Watching now! Love the show, missing Duff tonight.”
